Would you apply make-up to your whole body? Less fake tan, more foundation that goes beyond the face, it’s a trend that’s growing in the world of beauty – especially since the recent launch of Kim Kardashian West’s new KKW beauty body make-up collection.
The reality TV star and beauty mogul, who suffers from psoriasis – a condition that can cause visibly red, flaky and scaly skin – has released a line of foundations for the body and judging by a tutorial video she just posted on Instagram, it works like absolute magic.
Kim used her 84-year-old grandmother MJ, who fans of Keeping Up With the Kardashians will recognise from the show, as a model for the tutorial, explaining that she had asked the Kim to cover up the veins on her arms with the product. As the video demonstrates, the results were pretty impressive.
Explaining the process to her 142 million followers, Kim wrote: ‘My grandma MJ asked me about my Body Makeup and wanted me to come over to help cover her veins. North [her eldest daughter] and I went straight to her house and showed her exactly how to use it.’
‘I love how happy she is with the results! Swipe to see how amazing this before and after is on MJ!’
The star then went onto share her own experiences with body make-up in the past, having used it for years, and highlighted how her product differs – much to the delight of her fans who praised her in the comments section.
‘Let’s talk about the transfer,’ she said. ‘I’ve been using body makeup for over a decade now and in my experience you either get coverage that doesn’t transfer but it’s super dry and looks fake or its the opposite and really moisturizing but completely transfers. My new @kkwbeauty Body Makeup is in between.
She added: ‘If you let it dry before putting your clothes on it transfers way less and if you set it with a translucent powder it hardly transfers at all. It was important to keep the skin looking flawless yet natural. Swipe to the 3rd slide to see.
‘In the transfer video we didn’t have translucent powder but tried one of my pressed powders and that worked pretty good too! My body foundation really evens out and corrects your skin tone and conceals veins and bruises. My formula is super creamy, hydrating and long lasting! I can’t wait for you guys to try the entire Body Collection.’
