We’re used to seeing Kate in chic evening wear and sophisticated dresses, so but her casual looks are just as stylish. And when the Duchess of Cambridge is dressing down, there’s one particular type of trainer she turns to: Superga’s flat white plimsolls.
Kate has worn the cult Superga 2750 trainers on multiple occasions, including at her Back to Nature Garden at Chelsea Flower Show in 2019.
Typically, the ultra-versatile trainer shoes would only set you back £49.99, but thanks to a deal that’s running on Amazon (thank you Prime Day) right now, you can snap them up with £15 off – an absolute steal, and one you’ll reap the benefits of all year round.
What’s more, while Kate’s colourway is listed at around £35 (we clicked UK size 5 to test it out), some size and colour options are currently going for as little as £28.67 – a very small price to pay for some royally approved style.
It sounds obvious, but a basic white trainer really will go with just about everything. From lightweight summer trousers like Kate’s culottes to jeans, skirts and dresses, they’re also great for adding a contemporary twist to a more formal look too.
Kate has been loyal to the footwear for some time; she debuted the sneakers during her trip to Canada in 2016, while helping to sail a boat around the harbour in Victoria, British Columbia, and also wore her pair back in 2017 while attending the London Marathon.
The Superga trainers were first invented as a tennis shoe in the early 1900s, and have become a hit amongst the fashion set ever since.
Describing the shoe, Superga says: ‘Our Classic Superga 2750 Cotu shoe is Fashion’s trainer of choice. With an extra-strong, fully breathable, pure cotton upper, our timeless shape trainer is a lightweight, simple canvas tennis shoe with our vulcanised rubber sole. In production since 1911, this is the staple shoe with full versatility, and is the very definition of smart casual.’
No wonder they’ve got the royal seal of approval!
