Kate’s tartan scarf is just £15 from this British brand

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have headed out on a three-day royal train tour of the UK to visit, thank and ‘pay tribute to the inspiring work of those who have gone above and beyond to support communities across England, Scotland, and Wales,’ reads a @kensingtonroyal Instagram post.

As the royal couple make their way across the country, we can’t wait to see what sartorial choices the duchess makes. Kate’s outfits often hold particular significance relating to the event or destination or hold secret messages, such as her engraved necklace that has a sentimental meaning behind it. She’s also a great ambassador for British design and high street brands, having regularly sported clothing from M&S, Boden, Ghost, Massimo Dutti and more in the past.

Since they began their tour we’ve already been treated to several images of the couple engaging with transport staff, school children, NHS workers and more. With the first stop on the tour being Edinburgh, Kate suitably donned a tartan scarf to board the train at Euston, London for departure.

The scarf is said to be from York Scarves and costs just £14.95. Kate is wearing the scarf in the colourway ‘Maple Leaf’, which consists of a gorgeous autumnal palette of red, green and yellow. Eagle-eyed fans will know that Kate has already worn this scarf once before, on her and Prince Williams’ official tour of Canada in 2011.

Naturally, the well-documented ‘Kate effect’ means that particular colourway has already sold out, but we’ve no doubt it will get a restock very soon, and in the meantime there are plenty of other colours in full stock.

The scarf matched perfectly with Kate’s forest green Alexander McQueen coat (an item she’s worn for years) and even perfectly picked out the colours of her face mask. The look was topped off with a simple black top-handle handbag from British designs Grace Han.
