The Duchess of Cambridge stepped out in style yesterday to launch Tiny Happy People, a new BBC Education initiative providing free digital resources to support parents in developing children’s language from pregnancy through their early years.
As the mother of three confessed to wishing she had had access to such resources as a first-time mum, we couldn’t help but notice the fabulous polka dot dress Kate chose for the occasion. A now-sold out Emilia Wickstead number, it features a large polka dot print over a long-sleeved belted shirtdress. The original sleeves have a slight puff to them, although it looks as though Kate had hers altered for a slimmer sleeve style, while the knife-pleated skirt falls below the knee for a midi length look, a favourite style of Kate’s.
Finishing off the look with tan wedges, Kate looked comfortable and chic. After going into the MATCHESFASHION sale, the Emilia Wickstead dress is now sold out, however even with 70 per cent off the original £1,565 price tag, £469 would still be a bit on the pricey side. However, the classic style of the dress means there are some fantastic dupes on the high street for a fraction of the price, so everyone can get a slice of Kate’s gorgeous style for less.
Whistles, & Other Stories and Dancing Leopard all have some very similar looking dresses, while Wallis has an open V-neck style and Hobbs a slightly shorter number with yellow polka dots. And for a reversed colourway, New Look have a white puff sleeve shirtdress with black polka dots.
Even better, the prices start from just £25.99 and they’re all under £100. What are you waiting for?
