The Duchess of Cambridge is a well-documented fan of the high street. From Zara dresses to Accessorize earrings, in recent months Kate has been pictured in a number of bargains from our favourite household names – and now she’s shining a spotlight on another store that should definitely be on our radar for autumn wardrobe updates.
During a visit to a Scout Group in London to mark her appointment as joint president of the historic organisation, Kate went with an chic outdoorsy vibe in a long sleeved blue shirt, designer gilet and skinny brown trousers, as well as this season’s must-have footwear – a great pair of chunky boots.
But while her gilet was a Really Wild number costing more than £500 and her boots were high-end See by Chloe, her trousers were reportedly a much more affordable pick from Massimo Dutti, the sophisticated big sister brand that’s part of the same family as Zara, Bershka, Oysho, Pull and Bear, Stradivarius, and Uterqüe.
Priced at just £49.95, the subtly shiny trousers are a great staple basic in a neutral hue, which could be used for tonal outfits or for setting off classic colours like Kate’s blue linen. – we’re thinking a crisp white shirt for the office and a cashmere jumper for cosy weekends at the pub with friends.
If you’re not sure about pulling off the chocolate brown shade, they also come in black.
As you’d expect from a purse-friendly Kate approved purchase, stock is dwindling fact, but there are still multiple sizes in stock on the Massimo Dutti website at the time of writing.
If you miss out, it’s be a case of heading to your local store and crossing your fingers for more availability there – but based on previous instances of Kate effect sellouts, we’d recommend staying your claim sooner rather than later…
