The Duke of Cambridge is celebrating his 37th birthday today and to help him ring in his new year, his wife, the Duchess of Cambridge, has made him a touching homemade gift, with special assistance from their three children.
A royal insider has revealed that Kate, who is also 37, has created a sweet photo album for her husband with the help of Prince George, Princess Charlotte and little Prince Louis.
The scrapbook, which has been made with lovely family photos and homemade pictures by the kids, is set to be a surprise for William. In fact, Fabulous reports that it has been kept so under wraps, that Kate even stored the thoughtful present at her sister Pippa’s house.
‘Kate and the children have been compiling a large album of the children’s paintings, drawings and collages and prints,’ the source told Fabulous. ‘They reflect what they have been doing over the past year. You can look at any event they were involved with as a family and there will probably be a picture, drawing, print or photo.’
The album is reportedly named ‘Den They Were Three’ – a pun insinuating the arrivial of the couple’s third child, Prince Louis, who was born last year – and is set to have sought inspiration from Kate’s Back to Nature garden from this year’s Chelsea Flower Show.
‘It’s taken a great deal of time and effort to make, and as a present, it means something,’ the source added. ‘You could say it’s a reminder to William about what is really important. It’s been put together with a great deal of care.’
Also in honour of William’s birthday, Kensington Palace release never before seen pictures of the future King via their social media accounts, with a special thank you message to those wishing him a happy birthday, saying: ‘Thank you everyone for your lovely wishes on The Duke of Cambridge’s birthday.’
