Iconic wedding dress aside, one of Kate Middleton’s most fairytale-level stunning outfits has to be the Gucci gown she wore to the 100 Women in Finance Gala Dinner at the Victoria and Albert Museum back in February.
The romantic dress, which was colourblocked in several shades of blush and rose pink, featured a wrap-shouldered bodice and dreamy tulle layered skirt, accessorised with a contrasting plum coloured belt, a Prada clutch and contrasting Oscar de la Renta shoes.
Royal watchers also noted that Kate also sported the morganite Kiki McDonough drop earrings she’d worn previously for her sister Pippa’s wedding, adding a special family connection to the look.
But while the overall effect was undeniably beautiful, it was also, well, pretty expensive, as one might expect after reading that long list of impressive labels. So if you’ve coveted the iconic chiffon number, but found yourself with a budget that doesn’t quite stretch to duchess designer levels, you’re going to love this high street find.
Instagram account @regal_replikate, which helps its followers to steal Kate’s style at more affordable price points, has drawn the nation’s attention to a new arrival from Chi Chi London, a brand that’s stocked at both John Lewis & Partners and Next.

@chichiclothing have a great #replikate for the Gucci dress worn by the #duchessofcambridge to the 100 Women in Finance gala last February. This dress has a similar silhouette and colour scheme, and swapping the pink ribbon for a burgundy one would make it look even closer to the original. Called “Chi Chi London Steffny Colour Block Dress, Mink”, available at @johnlewisandpartners and @nextofficial for £80. #duchessofcambridge #royalstyle #lookforless #replikate
Although the Steffny Colour Block Dress in Mink isn’t an exact replica of Kate’s Gucci gown, it’s the closest we’ve seen for under £100 – and with the same colour scheme and silhouette, it’ll certainly help you to channel some serious princess vibes.
Got a special occasion coming up? The dress is in stock in sizes 8-16, priced at just £80. And when you consider how much Kate’s equivalent likely cost, that’s actually a bit of a bargain.
