Despite being royalty, the Duchess of Cambridge often turns to the high street for her outfits. Regularly giving us all extreme outfit envy, Kate is oft spotted in purse-friendly fashion finds from the likes of Marks & Spencer, & Other Stories, Zara and more. Which is lucky for all of us who love to emulate the royal’s winning style.
And her latest outfit was no exception to the rule. In a short video posted to the @kensingtonroyal Instagram account over the weekend, which showed Kate in conversation with her fellow Hold Still judges (the lockdown photography competition Kate launched in partnership with the National Portrait Gallery), the Duchess is seen to be wearing a green floral Zara dress.
Already priced at an affordable £49.99, the dress was recently docked to the even more amazing price of £9.99, making Kate’s outfit cost less than a tenner. The dress has a lovely vintage tea dress vibe about it, but with some modern updates – the ditsy floral print, sage green colour, contrast lace trim and ruched short sleeves are all in keeping with the vintage aesthetic, but a tiered midi length, deep V-neck and high side split bring things thoroughly up to date.
However, thanks to that well-documented ‘Kate effect’ – where everything the Duchess wear instantly sells out – the dress has already sold out online. But seeing how popular it has been and especially now that Kate Middleton has worn it, we wouldn’t be surprised if Zara brings the dress back into stock, so keep your eyes peeled.
In the meantime, we’ve hunted the high street for 5 lookalikes for Kate’s Zara dress, so you can get her royally-approved look right now.
