When it comes to celebrity beauty routines, we often think they’ll include countless expensive products we can’t afford (and often that is true). But, occasionally a celeb comes along and blows that theory right out of the water, professing their love for a budget beauty buy that we can all get on board with.
Kate Beckinsale is one of the latest celebrities to do just that. In a recent interview with People, the actress shared her beauty secrets, revealing a rather low-key approach to her skincare and beauty routine.
She revealed that her hero products are all budget buys: Cetaphil soap, Pantene shampoo and conditioner – ‘my hair really likes it’ – and cherry and strawberry Chapstick, which she calls her ‘absolute jam’ and still uses today. At £2, the Chapstick is a great budget beauty buy – it has 4.5 stars out of 5 on Amazon and has attracted many five star reviews: ‘Bought these as they reminded me of my teenage years’ and they are ‘still very good’ wrote one happy shopper.
Kate’s other beauty and wellness must-haves include insisting on a bath every evening: ‘Even when it’s Oscar night and you’re getting home at seven in the morning once you’ve been to 15 parties. I still have to go through the whole bath thing,’ she said.
And she puts her good skin down to her mum’s genes as well as using SPF70 all the time as a child.
As well as Kate Beckinsale, other celebrities who are fiercely loyal to purse-friendly beauty buys include Victoria Beckham (she’s often touted Caudalie’s £12 Beauty Elixir as a favourite product), Davina McCall and Amanda Holden (they’ve both professed their love for Trinny London’s £26 Miracle Blur before) and Adele, who used a £26 eyeliner for her Vogue cover look.
