Coats are the ultimate wardrobe investment. No matter what you’re wearing underneath, a stylish top layer will elevate any outfit – and if you break it down to cost per wear, it’s probably one of the most affordable things you’ll buy.
So it’s unsurprising that the John Lewis & Partners item that’s sent shoppers into the biggest frenzy this season is just that: a fabulous coat that can be paired with almost anything, and that you’ll return to year after year.
Despite its £199 price tag, the Double Faced Collar Coat flew off the rails both in stores and online back in October after fashion influencers including Rosie Londoner and Erica Davies were snapped sporting the coveted item, with huge waiting lists of women waiting for it to come back into stock.
Now, the price of the coat has been slashed on the John Lewis website in two of the colour options – blue and raspberry pink. Now £100, it comes in sizes 8-18, and many of them still appear to be in stock online (we can almost hear the style set’s hallelujah chorus).
Customers who have already got their hands on it say they couldn’t be more pleased with their purchase, with one 5-star reviewer writing: ‘I ordered this online and I’m so glad I did it is exactly what I was looking for. The camel colour is beautiful and looks much more expensive. This coat is cut well and hangs well making it easy to be worn casually or dressed up.’
If that’s not an endorsement, we don’t know what is – race you to the tills before it sells out again!
