There’s a surprising benefit to being a January baby

January babies have notoriously been unluckily with birthday celebrations because, let’s face it,  the last thing people want to do is party in the aftermath of Christmas.

Not only have we been hit by the blues but our bank accounts are looking dire, and most of us are making things even more miserable for ourselves by partaking in Dry January. So, aside from Christmas Day, it’s pretty much the worst time to be born. Or is it?

According to new research, January is actually the best month to be born into for those who want to be rich and famous – in other words, all of us. The study, published in the Journal of Social Sciences, has highlighted that disproportionate number of Hollywood A-list celebrities are born into the Aquarius astrological star sign which is runs between 20 January and 18 February. This includes everyone from Oprah and Ellen Degeneres to Jennifer Aniston.

So if you’re a January baby, you may not have the most popular birthday parties but that may all change once you’re rich and famous. It’s written in the stars – and that’s not all. The study also pointed that January babies are natural go-getters when it comes to their careers out of the spotlight too.

After analysing 19 different professions from a census, researchers from the UK Office of National Statistics found that people born in January have an increased chance of becoming either a doctor or a debt collector – we know which one we’d prefer to be.

They also revealed that January babies were more likely to become a boss after a 13-year study of S&P 500 companies found that 10 percent of CEOs were born in the first month of the year. But why exactly is this the case?

‘If you were born in January, you have almost 12 months’ growth ahead of your classmates born late in the year,’ explained the study co-author, Adrian Barnett from Queensland University.

He makes a good point!
