In today’s day and age, most of us have our mobile phones glued to our hands. Whether we’re scrolling through social media or navigating group chats on Whatsapp, we simply can’t get enough of life on our screens, which is why it’s a bit of a surprise that it has taken us this long to discover a clever new texting hack on iPhones.
Brought to light by food blogger Krissy Brierre-Davis, a special hack which helps iPhone users speed up their texting process has been circulating the internet, with many, like Krissy, wondering why no one ever told us it existed.
The feature is simple yet very effective: it allows users to edit texts easily by enabling you to move the cursor in whichever direction you move your thumb. So if you’ve got chubby thumbs or long nails that usually slow down your texting process, this will be your saving grace.
To use it, all you have to do is tap and hold the space bar on your iPhone before moving your thumb up, down, left, or right. This way, users can add or remove letters from their text without having to tap where you want to edit. Clever, right?
In other messenger news, it was recently revealed that Whatsapp is introducing a new ‘vacation mode’ to help users switch off on holiday. The popular Facebook-owned messaging app is expected to launch its ‘vacation mode’ in an upcoming app update, allowing users to mute all activities on the app including group chats and individual chats so that no notifications will appear on their phone, lock screen or in the app itself whilst the function is turned on.
To enable the new feature, WhatsApp users will need to mute a group chat and then archive it. Once that’s done, the vacation mode feature will be available to select and you will no longer be disrupted by messages.
