The first ever Huda Beauty mascara had a 10,000 person waitlist

Huda Beauty has been one of the biggest success stories in the world of Insta-beauty – makeup artist and beauty blogger Huda Kattan founded her cosmetics line in 2013, the first products being a line of false lashes (which famously went on to be worn by Kim Kardashian). Fast-forward seven years and the beauty mogul has just launched her first ever mascara, a product that’s been no less than five years in the making.

Considering that she started in the world of falsies (and Huda is known for her impeccably full and fluttery lashes), it’s no wonder that when the time came to create a mascara, she wanted to make sure it performed just as well as a set of fake lashes.

‘For me, lashes are the epitome of femininity, which is why I became obsessed with fake lashes since mine are so short and sparse! Finally, I have a mascara that gives me the confidence to go falsie-free when I want,’ says Huda.

LEGIT Lashes Double-Ended Mascara, £20, Huda Beauty

The resulting product is the LEGIT Lashes Double-Ended Mascara, a dual-ended wand with two separate formulas. Huda often talks of using two different mascaras on her own lashes – one to lengthen and one to add volume – so when creating her own mascara the decision to make a two-in-one product must have been a no-brainer.

One end has a slim, curved wand to lengthen, define and curl even the tiniest of lashes with a specialised formula that includes gripping waxes and fibres that can add 5mm of length to each lash – now that’s impressive. Meanwhile, the other end feature thicker bristles on a medium-sized wand to hold onto every lash and a formula enhanced with low gravity fibres to create maximum volume and drama.

Essentially, you’re getting three products in one here, because you can use each end individually for totally different looks, or use the two together to create the ultimate defined lash look with plenty of oomph. And priced at £20, this mascara is well within the affordable end of the mascara spectrum.

The product is available to buy from the Huda Beauty website now, but as we wait for the reviews to come flocking in, the results from an independent panel test of 22 women are very promising: 100 per cent agreed these mascaras gave their lashes extreme curl, extreme length and an instant lash extension effect.
