Your dog can now apply to a be a ‘canine critic’ for pet-friendly hotels

Find it a wrench to leave your beloved dog at home when you go on holiday? Well, thanks to a new competition from Hotels.com, your four-legged friend could soon be the one taking you on a fancy trip of their own.

‘Hotels.com is on the hunt for our first ever hotel Canine Critic to review the best pet-friendly hotels around the world,’ the brand explains. ‘It’s now all the rage to take your furry friend on your travels, so the winning pooch (and their human) will spread their “bark” and pick ten pet-friendly hotels around the world to visit on us.’

Yes that’s right – the chosen pet and their owner will receive 10 hotel vouchers for a luxury, dog-friendly breaks to redeem against the cost of stays at eligible destinations around the world.

Entering is simple – all you have to do is post a picture of your pooch on Instagram, tag and follow @hotelsdotcom and use the hashtag #CanineCritic before the closing date of Sunday 25 August (well, did you really have better plans for your bank holiday weekend than styling a professional pup photoshoot? We thought not).

However, your dog will have to have pretty discerning tastes: Hotels.com wants to find a ‘kween’ who knows ‘[their] champers from [their] paw-secco, loves the high life, has a bubbly bark, and lives life at a 1000 thread count,’ so they really are on the hunt for a hound that enjoys the finer things in life.

Plus, you’ll be up against some pretty stiff competition – entrants can reside in a number of countries, including United Kingdom, France, Spain, Norway, Finland, Germany, Turkey, USA, Canada (excluding Quebec), Brazil, Mexico and Argentina, so proud pet owners around the world will be battling it out for the coveted prize.

Still think your sidekick has got what it takes? Get snapping and be sure to share your picture with Hotels.com by the end of the week. You never know, you might get to spend 2020 jetsetting with woman’s best friend by your side!
