Lympstone Manor, set on the Exe Estuary in Devon, offers a five-star luxury experience you won’t want to end.
Upon the expansive Exe Estuary and within a beautiful English vineyard sits the warmest, most gorgeous lap of luxury imaginable: Lympstone Manor.
As you enter the Georgian manor house the beauty greets you; from every entrance, window and doorway there are green views of the Exmouth country, the estuary and vineyards. From the moment you arrive the welcoming staff are on hand to help with anything they can.
After a four-hour drive to Exmouth, Devon, being greeted with valet parking, hot towels and complimentary gin and tonics as our bags were carried to our room meant we immediately felt completely looked after. This really set the tone for the weekend.

Rooms and facilities
We saw a couple of the rooms on arrival; they were all unique and beautifully designed, each inspired by a different bird. Our room had a terrace complete with fire table and outside bath tub overlooking the Estuary.
With gorgeous showers, indoor metal tubs, his and hers sinks, super king beds, fluffy robes, slippers, flat screen TV’s, GHD hair dryers and straighteners you won’t want to leave the room – but you should, otherwise you’ll miss the vineyard tours, a wine room and cellar tasting experience, a two Michelin star restaurant by Michael Caines, afternoon tea, vast walks and a soon to be outdoor pool!
Food and drink
After gorgeous aperitifs in the lounge we opted for the eight-course tasting menu in the dining room and it was a wonderful experience. Each course was beautifully thought out, exquisitely presented and above all absolutely delicious.
The whole dining experience from start to finish was perfect, helped by the friendly and informative staff who make everything easy, lovely and a real event. From a Scottish langoustine, Salted Newlyn cos and Darts Farm ruby red beef fillet it is a completely decadent but amazing menu and well worth staying in for.

With its proximity to Exeter on one hand, the sea on the other, and with excellent transportation links (road, rail and air), Lympstone Manor remains an easily accessible and perfect rural retreat.
We made use of the surroundings and took a long walk through the vineyard, along the Estuary and onto Exmouth pier. We stayed for one evening and by the time we left I really felt as if I’d taken four or five days away. In Exmouth we popped for lunch at Rockfish, a lovely seafood restaurant set on the water with an absolutely stunning view across the Exe Estuary. Delicious fresh sustainable sea food caught that day, and a great menu it was the perfect end to the weekend!
This hotel is absolutely perfect for the ultimate romantic getaway. Through the combination of pure luxury, gorgeous scenery and good old-fashioned fresh air you really do feel like you’ve disappeared from reality! Every corner lends itself to indulgence and every minute feels like a real treat.
There are also Shepherd huts at the bottom of the vineyard complete with outdoor tubs, fire pits, communal areas or more private stays perfect for family or group trips.
