Keeping your plants alive is a crucial but often tricky thing – especially when you’re busy jetting off on holidays throughout the summer. But we’ve found the perfect solution which means you can keep your living interiors safe, while enjoying a worry-free getaway. Say hello to the Houseplant Hotel.
Online plant delivery shop Patch has launched a brand new temporary home for houseplants that need looking after while their owners are away. So instead of pleading with a friend, relative or a neighbour to water your plants in your absence, you can drop them off at a houseplant hotel where they will be in safe hands.
Unlike a friend (who let’s face it, could very well forget to pay your plants a visit, leading them to their death) the hotel is solely dedicated to the caring for plants, with a team of specialists doing the job.
The specialists will do everything from making sure your plant is placed in the correct place, whether it needs direct sun light or shade, while also keeping to a watering schedule. This means your plants will be well and healthy while you’re away, putting your mind at complete ease. In fact, they may even be in better condition when you pick them up then when you dropped them off.
Rose Grower, the hotel manager, says: ‘The hotel is a sanctuary for your beloved plants. They will be in great company and looked after with the respect and love they so richly deserve.
‘So many of us have asked a friend or family member to water the plants when we’re away, only to return to disappointment – the hotel not only saves your plants alive, but your relationships too.’
The Patch Plant Hotel, which has 100 ‘rooms’ available for plants, will open its doors on Thursday 5 September in London’s Battersea.
