The ‘Holly Willoughby effect’ is a well documented phenomena in the sartorial world – the TV presenter need only wear something once for it to sell out within hours of posting her daily #outfitoftheday on Instagram. One outfit in particular that grabbed the attention of her fashionable followers was one she wore back in March this year.
The outfit in question was a pretty floral midi-length dress from Warehouse. Within two hours of the This Morning presenter posting the picture to social media the dress had completely sold out – and we can definitely see why.
The flattering bias cut suits all body shapes, while the floaty fishtail hem gives a touch of drama. The high round neck and midi length create a covered up look without looking too demure, and the elbow-length puff sleeves are flattering on everyone and a great saviour if you don’t like to show your upper arms.
But most of all, that print. The dainty pastel pink, fuchsia, lavender and butter yellow flowers combined with sage green leaves makes for an oh-so perfect for spring pattern and has us dreaming of warm, lazy picnics in wildflower meadows.
Priced at £69, you can see why it flew off the shelves the first time round – it looks perfect teamed with matching heels (just like Holly did), an ideal look for attending a summer wedding, but we know this would also look dazzling with fresh white trainers or Converse for an easy ‘summer in the city’ look, or open toe flat sandals for a put-together holiday style. Basically, it’s the kind of dress you’ll buy now and wear all summer long – but consider this your warning to hurry fast if you want to be wearing Holly’s dress this season as we predict another quick sellout on the cards.
If you’re in love with the print but already have a wardrobe bursting at the seams with bias-cut midi dresses (don’t worry, we feel ya), may we turn your attention to the pleated, tiered halterneck style, instead?
Not in the market for a dress at all? Don’t worry, there’s a puff-sleeve blouse with a pie-crust collar with your name on it.
