For spring, they may not be groundbreaking, but we’re big believers in florals all year round – especially when they’re as gorgeous as H&M’s collab with Colombian designer Johanna Ortiz.
The range doesn’t officially launch until March 2020, but H&M has unveiled four styles to whet our sartorial appetites as an early ‘pre-drop’, just in time for party season, and you’re going to want to invest in them all.
The designs represent a capsule wardrobe of Ortiz’s signature styles: the tunic dress, the wrap dress, the mini dress, and the tiered floor-length look. H&M teamed up with the creative after falling in love with her ‘exuberant design, use of colour and exceptional flair for dramatic silhouettes’, all of which have translated beautifully into the high street range.
‘The prints all come from my obsession with the flowers, the palm trees and the beautiful colours I am blessed to see out the window when I wake up at home in Cali, in my native Columbia,’ Ortiz explains of the inspiration behind the pieces.
‘The imprint of Latin America and its uniquely festive atmosphere is something that can be felt in each Johanna Ortiz design, so I’m thrilled that so many women in the world will have a little piece of Colombia in their wardrobes thanks to this collaboration.’
They may seem more suited to the warmer months at first glance, but Ortiz suggests pairing the dresses ‘with minimal sandals, lavish earrings and beach hair in the summer, but they are also perfect with chunky boots of black tights and heels for the Christmas party season.’
Here are the four items that you can shop now, starting from just £34.99. When they’re this dreamy, we can only imagine the buys that will emerge as part of the full collection…
