Iconic 90s supermodel and former YOU cover star Helena Christensen is one of the most stylish women on the planet – so you know that any fashion line she’s had a hand in creating is going to be pretty spectacular.
And thanks to H&M, her next venture is also set to be pretty affordable, as she’s teamed up with the high-street brand for a capsule collection featuring her own photography.
Describes as ‘effortless yet edgy’, the range will centre around t-shirts, sweaters and hoodies with a colour palette of black, white and grey, tapping into the Scandi chic that both the Copenhagen-born star and Swedish store channel in their everyday styles.
As well as providing the imagery for the designs, which all feature flowers in some form, photographer and creative director Helena also oversaw the campaign imagery for the line, showing off yet another string to her sartorial bow.
‘We’re happy to be collaborating with Helena Christensen. From her work behind and in front of the camera to magazines or fragrances, plus her charitable work, she’s a true icon,’ says Maria Östblom, head of womenswear design at H&M. And her beautiful photographs of flowers for this collaboration look amazing on the 90s streetwear-inspired designs – it’s laidback with an edge.’
‘It’s been a very cool experience collaborating with H&M as I not only have been able to see my photographs come to life on items of clothing but also got to look at them through my lens as I shot the campaign images,’ adds Helene herself. ‘I wanted to capture the generation of tomorrow, encouraging them to be themselves and letting their personalities shine.’
T-shirts start from £12.99, while hoodies go up to £19.99, and based on previous H&M collabs like the Johanna Ortiz and Giambattista Valli edits, none of the pieces will be around for long. Our fingers will be hovering over the ‘add to basket’ button when the range drops next week.
