How to master the ‘highlighter heel’ trend like Victoria Beckham

Victoria Beckham is renowned for her simple yet chic style – reflected both within her personal looks and her self-titled fashion label. Black, white and neutral colours are her go-to, with elegance and class are the forefront of all of her designs.

However, her upcoming autumn/winter collection, which was showcased at London Fashion Week last month saw the designer opting for slightly more daring looks on the catwalk as she embraced what Harper’s Bazaar have dubbed as the ‘highlighter heel’ trend – a brightly coloured shoe matched with a neutral outfit.

Not only did her catwalk collection feature a number of highlighting shoes including yellow, green and pink hues, but VB was also spotted sporting the rising trend (which is set to be huge next season) earlier this week as she attended the 2019 Portrait Gala at the National Portrait Gallery alongside husband David, and a host of other big names including Kate Moss, Princess Beatrice and the Duchess of Cambridge.

The Spice Girl-turned-fashion icon ditched the event’s ballgown dress code in favour of a more sleek and stylish look, wearing a pair of black tailored trousers and a white tailored top, which she completed with a pair of neon pink court shoes for a highlight effect.

The look is a quick and easy way to dress up an otherwise toned-down outfit. Add a pair of highlighter heels to a simple ensemble and you can instantly transform you look from long day at the office to trend-mastering style queen, ready for an evening out.
