Helen George has stuck with the theme for her second baby’s name

Perhaps it’s because she’s played Trixie for eleven series of one of our favourite dramas, definitely not afraid to stand up for herself, or maybe it’s because she’s definitely not afraid to stand up for herself, but we’re huge fans of Helen George.

The actress gave birth to her second child last month, following on from her first daughter, Wren, who was born in 2017.

Now Helen has announced the name of her new arrival, and we’re glad to see she’s sticking to the bird-inspired theme. ‘Our second little bird’ said Helen, sharing a sweet snap of her and her newborn on Instagram. ‘This is Lark. We should probably stop there so we don’t end up with a Goose’.

The actress originally announced Lark’s arrival with a picture of her partner Jack Ashton cuddling her, writing: ‘Happiest of birthdays my love. What a week. And forevermore you will share your birthday week with your second born, sorry I couldn’t cross my legs any longer.’

Jack also appeared in Call The Midwife as Reverend Tom Hereward.

After the birth of her first child, Helen revealed she had an elective caesarean, partly because of the ‘horror stories about birth’ she had heard during filming.

‘I chose to have a C-section,’ she told the Radio Times. ‘It coincided with the fact that I had to deliver her early, but even without that, I would have gone for an elective caesarean because of what I’d learnt on Call the Midwife.’

‘I’m not against natural birth, I’m pro whatever you feel is right for you,’ she said at the time. ‘Some people may not understand why I elected to have a C-section, but it was right for me at the time. It’s not because I’m “too posh to push”, it’s about what I think my body is capable of.’
