Hair stylist Sophie Sugarman shares her top picks from Aldi’s Lacura haircare range

When hairstylist Sophie Sugarman isn’t posting effortless hair tutorials to her Instagram account @themanestyle (which boasts a cool nearly 22,000 followers), she’s working with fashion brands, celebrities and on red carpets, events and TV shows creating her signature chic hair looks.

So who better to ask all about how we should be maintaining our hair between now and when we can finally get back in a salon chair once more, as well as what hairstyles we should all be coveting this summer?

And, unlike some celebrity hairstylists, Sophie isn’t just about the most expensive products out there – she’s a big fan of Aldi‘s revamped Lacura haircare range and revealed to us her favourite products below…

We can’t wait to get back to the hair salon soon – when we can, what hairstyles do you suggest we go for this summer?

You will be seeing a lot more low maintenance looks and people really embracing their natural textures. Some key styles you should look out for are the modern shag, short and sexy textured bobs, long-lasting layers and cute pixie cuts. Lacura Oil Complex Shampoo and Conditioner softens and smooths the hair, transforming locks with a lustrous shine that is ideal for waves and curls.

We know you love a hair accessory – which should we invest in this season?

Hair accessories are the perfect way to finish off a look and add a little detail, taking hair from day to evening. The accessory trends you will be seeing a lot of are beautiful hair bows, jumbo textured scrunchies, OTT headbands and, of course, sparkly hair slides. The bigger the better!

What are your top tips for dealing with and styling an outgrown hairstyle and growing roots?

My main tips for dealing with an outgrown hair cut is don’t cut it – just keep up treatments and wait for your stylist! The Lacura Volume Shampoo and Conditioner range is packed with protein to help create thicker-looking hair, as well as adding volume and bounce – ideal for bringing life back to outgrown locks. It is also a great time to get creative with updos like a textured ponytail or a chic top knot.

For anyone struggling to cover their roots, try adding a headband to your daily routine – not only will it hide them but you will feel on-trend and accessorised, too!

What are your hair care tips for maintaining healthy hair between now and when we can finally get back to the hairdresser?

My number one tip is to make sure you are treating your mane – hair treatments should be your best friend. Aldi recently revamped its haircare range with new formulations that boast a range of benefits. They offer amazing, premium quality for whatever your hair needs without pulling on the purse strings! It’s also a great time to embrace your natural texture and learn about your hair, just make sure you use hair care products that will enhance it.

Which are your favourite products from Aldi’s refreshed Lacura haircare range to use on yourself?

I am obsessed with the new range – the shampoos and conditioners are amazing and I love that they are cruelty-free. My go-to shampoo is the Lacura Mineral Clay as my mane feels super purified and deeply cleansed, whilst hydrating my mid-length and ends. The conditioner I have fallen in love with is the Lacura Oil Complex – not only is it super lightweight but it transforms the look and feel of my hair by adding shine, softness and smoothness.
