The Lantana lamp, which has a ‘curvy’ base in a a rusty orange hue, can be paired with a number of different lamp shades, from cream to black, and even patterned options. The lamp has a glossy finish and a distinctly retro feel, and at £56 (it currently has 20 per cent off from the usual price of £70), it certainly won’t break the bank.

You can then buy your chosen shade separately, or get it all in one go for £92 (down from £115).

As mentioned, the lamp has been doing the rounds on Instagram, having been spotted on many influential interiors pages, including those from Emma Jane Palin, Kimberley Duran and Kate Watson-Smyth’s Mad About The House.

So just why is the lamp in question becoming so popular? Well, it has a homely, vintage feel, and looks great when paired with a variety of different interior styles.

Clare Griffin, Buyer for Lighting at Habitat also explained why she thought the style had taken off so spectacularly: ‘We’ve seen sales of ceramic lamp bases more than double in the last few months at Habitat, and ceramics are now our fastest growing material in the table lamp category,’ she said.

‘Our designs Lantana, Dascia and Calla are now overtaking many of our iconic bestselling designs that have been our top sellers for years, and shows that customers are looking for more unusual shapes and finishes that make these lamps decorative objet in their own right and look just as good “on” or “off”.’

‘The reactive glazes too – as with our dinnerware collections – are proving popular with customers as this means that each ceramic lamp base is completely unique, so for a high street price you are getting a one-off design for your home.’
