Finding that perfect lipstick that brings a hit of colour, stays put, and also feels nourishing is the ultimate challenge. But Glossier believes they’ve hit the trifecta with their latest launch, Ultralip.
Ultralip brings the buildable colour of a lip tint together with the sheen of a gloss and the rich moisture of a balm, all of which work together to form the ideal transitional lip product we all need as we re-enter the ‘real’ world. Many of us have learnt to enjoy natural beauty in the past year, and this lipstick fits perfectly into that ‘less is more’ aesthetic.
The collection comprises nine shades, ranging from neutrals to bolds: Villa, a dusty rose; Portrait, a cherry blossom pink; Fête, a watermelon red; Lucite, a sheer peony pink; Vesper, a rich fuchsia; Trench, a toffee brown; Ember, a deep mauve; Cachet, a walnut brown; and Coupe, a blood orange.
As well as a great selection of shades, the product is made using quality ingredients that consider lip comfort a high priority. For example, meadowfoam seed oil softens lips and locks in moisture, while watermelon seed oil is packed with vitamins and fatty acids for conditioning and care. Ultralip is also formulated with 4HA, which is a concoction of four different molecular weights of hyaluronic acid, meaning your lips will definitely feel quenched.
The packaging of Ultralip is sleek and pink, just like the brand, and the tubes are made from 50% post-consumer recycled material, meaning you can feel good about your purchase.
Ultralip is not the first lip product Glossier has put out. In fact, they already have a successful line of lipsticks called Generation G, but these have more of a matte finish. Additionally, Glossier’s line features their non-sticky Lip Gloss (in four shades), along with their bestselling Balm Dotcom, which comes in a large selection of ‘flavours’ now, from Mango to Rose.
