Glossier’s new Solar Paint bronzer has arrived with four sun-kissed shades for summer

In the world of beauty, there are buzzworthy brands—and then there’s Glossier. From Futuredew to Cloud Paint, and the brand’s ever-elusive ‘G’ merch, every new product made by the US import is met with more excitement than the last. Now, Glossier has just announced the apt arrival of an innovative gel-crème bronzer launching today on glossier.com. Meet: Glossier Solar Paint Bronzer.

Just in time for peak summer, Glossier’s new Solar Paint comes inspired by the warm, lit-from-within glow you get from days spent in the sun. Available in four shades – Flare, Ray, Heat and Vol – expect a dewy, easy-to-use bronzer crème that will work for different undertones and skin tones to create a naturally luminous finish. “We wanted to make the most realistic bronzer possible: each shade has a touch of luminosity from light-reflecting pearls and a thoughtful balance of warmth and dimension, so it looks just as natural in broad daylight as it does in your bathroom mirror,” says Glossier.

If you’re a Cloud Paint devotee, chances are you will quickly fall for Glossier’s new bronzer. Where Cloud Paint’s blush adds a pop of gel-like colour to cheeks, Solar Paint offers the same versatility and ease of application to create a natural, sun-kissed bronzed look. It comes with a doe-foot applicator so you can simply tap and blend with your fingertips by dotting around the top of your forehead, on the apples of your cheeks and the bridge of your nose.

Forget chalky or heavy textures too, the new formula has an almost-whipped gel crème finish helping to create a brighter, youthful-looking complexion that catches the light in all the right places. As you’d expect, the ingredients list is all cruelty-free, vegan, dermatologist-tested and formulated without fragrance too. Like all Glossier makeup, it’s enriched with skin-loving ingredients like Desert Milk™ (a micro-emulsion of plant oils and extracts like Jojoba and Aloe) which helps condition and nourish the skin. Even more impressive, this ingredient lends a natural, true-to-skin finish that blends seamlessly with the heat of your fingers.

Then there’s the botanical extract, Ayursense, which has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for years as a natural way of boosting skin’s luminosity and glow. Finally, the formula contains ultrafine light-reflecting pearls to create a more realistic sun-kissed glow rather than a sparkly or glitter-infused finish, with varying gold and copper hues depending on the shade and skin tone. For instance, Flare has been formulated with gold pearls for fair-light skin tones, while Volt features copper pearls for deep-rich skin tones.

The brainchild of Emily Weiss, Glossier is all about creating easy-to-use products inspired by real people. In just a few years, the brand has reached cult status with an expansive skincare, makeup, fragrance and body care range led by its devoted community, and recently announced its very own permanent store set to launch in the UK so that fans can get a taste of the millennial-pink magic up close and personal.

Needless to say, we predict Solar Paint is going to be a big hit this summer.
