Blue Light Card

The Blue Light Card scheme provides NHS, emergency services and social care workers with discounts at thousands of national and local retailers, from Cineworld to EE to Halfords, to name a few. Now, they are launching Blue Light Tickets, which will provide these essential workers with the first chance to claim free tickets to sporting events, musical events, leisure days out and more. Tourist attractions including Thorpe Park and Madame Tussauds have already pledged tickets, as have many football clubs and live events such as Grand Designs Live.

LEON restaurants are reopening and they’ve extended their increased 50 per cent discount to all emergency service workers.

Soulful Food

The home of peri-peri chicken, Nando’s has always offered a 20 per cent discount to police, fire services, ambulance service and NHS staff. Now the grills have been fired up once more, the discount is being extended to takeaway orders while restaurants remain closed. Access Sport x Bikeworks

The charity Access Sport has teamed up with Bikeworks to launch a bike loan scheme for NHS workers on the frontline of COVID-19, providing them with a safer way to travel to work during the pandemic. The initiative is also offering helmets and 1:1 route planning to facilitate a safe commute for NHS workers during this challenging time.

The scheme is currently running at Royal London Hospital in Tower Hamlets and Goodmayes Hospital in Ilford, with Access Sport looking to extend the offering to as many hospital trusts as possible and are welcoming any trusts to get in touch directly in order to discuss further. NHS staff can get involved with the scheme directly through their hospital’s communication scheme.

London hair salon, Adam Reed, want to thank NHS staff by offering them complimentary wash and blow dries. When you’re working as hard as NHS workers are right now, your appearance can be the last thing you think about, so a free blow dry could mean the world to someone and really lift their mood. The salon has had to temporarily close for the time being, but they are extending their offer for a free wash, treatment and blow-dry for two weeks after they reopen.

Las Iguanas

NHS workers can get 50 per cent off takeaway meals plus a free can of Coke, thanks to Coca-Cola, at the Latin American restaurant chain Las Iguanas.


Online store, Misguided, is increasing their original Blue Light Card discount (a pre-existing discount card for those in the emergency services, NHS and armed forces) up to 40 per cent. ‘As a thank you to the amazing people who are working around the clock to keep our nation safe and healthy, we have increased our discount to 40 per cent off site wide on Health Service Discounts and Blue Light Card.’


Another of our go-to online retailers is also wishing to extend their thanks to those on the frontline. Online fashion brand ASOS has also recently upped their usual 10 per cent discount for NHS and other frontline staff to an even better 20 per cent – just get your code via the Blue Light Card scheme.

Arnold Clark

Rental car service, Arnold Clark, have announced they want to help any NHS employees struggling to get to work by providing them with transport. ‘At a time like this, we are all realising how invaluable our NHS and its employees are, and we need to pull together as a community to support them,’ it says. ‘As a result, in the coming weeks we will try to help NHS employees struggling with transport to and from their place of work. London-based fitness chain have made a whole load of their classes available online and for key workers they’re totally free to access. ‘We are in awe of all the NHS workers, teachers, carers, the police force, military, delivery workers and anyone else who is working tirelessly to keep everyone safe and the economy ticking over.
