From glitzy heels to go-for-gold tunes, Olympic champion and Dancing on Ice judge Jayne Torvill reveals the little things that mean the most.
The Manolo Blahniks [left] came from a shop in New York which featured in Sex and the City. I went there with friends and couldn’t resist them! The Louboutins are covered in Swarovski crystals – I love how they’re so sparkly. I wear them on Dancing on Ice and out to special occasions.
I use this Giorgio Armani foundation every day. It’s light and gives a lovely natural finish. I don’t like being too made up unless I have to be for TV. I’d rather look like I’m not wearing anything – even when I am.
This Timex watch belonged to my mum, Betty, who’s 90. It was too tiny for her to wear so she gave it to me ten years ago. I’m an only child so I’ve always been the focus of her attention – though she was never a pushy skating mum.
Jo Malone London Dark Amber & Ginger Lily Dry Body Oil is my beauty go-to. I love the scent so much that I’ve bought the candles too. Usually oil feels greasy on the skin, but this one doesn’t. The smell lingers, so when I use it I don’t need to wear perfume.
I wore this Adrianna Papell dress for the Dancing on Ice final in March. Chris and I were comfortable in our new roles as judges and we felt that the best person [singer Jake Quickenden] won. I love the colour of the gown and how it shimmers.
I saw this Pandora charm bracelet in a shop window around 20 years ago and I fell in love with it. It was quite expensive so I asked my husband Phil [Christensen] if I could buy it for myself as a special Christmas present from him and luckily he agreed.
When Chris [Dean, her skating partner] and I trained for the Sarajevo Winter Olympics in 1984 we listened to Ravel’s ‘Bolero’ while warming up and agreed it would be perfect for our routine [for which they won gold].
My 12-year-old daughter Jessica got me this Jack Wills scarf from her school’s Christmas Secret Santa sale. She was only nine at the time and I thought it was a really sweet gift. It’s colourful, makes me smile and I think of her when I wear it.
