Holly Willoughby’s replacement on This Morning has been announced

It’s hard to imagine ITV’s This Morning without Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, but unfortunately, even our favourite TV presenters need to take their annual leave.

This year, both Holly and Phil will be taking a break from their day job during Easter, meaning we’ll have two new faces hosting the show in their absence.

ITV has announced that Emily Atack will step in to fill Holly’s shoes alongside her I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here campmate, John Barrowman, who will be covering for Schofe.

The former Inbetweeners actress has become a national treasure ever since leaving the Australian jungle, where the British public fell in love with her and even voted her in at second place, behind ultimate king of the jungle Harry Redknapp.

The new duo will take over from Friday April 12, marking their first ever time as presenters on the show.

Emily shared the news with an adorable picture of herself and ‘best mate’ John on Instagram, expressing her excitement about her new gig. She wrote: ‘Morning little chicks! Well isn’t this exciting. I’ll be hosting This Morning with my beloved Barrowman 💓 and we approve of you having Buck’s Fizz while you watch 🐣 see you next Friday 12th April!’

Speaking to The Sun, she added: ‘I am absolutely over the moon to be joining This Morning with my best mate John Barrowman over Easter. It’s a dream come true to be presenting one of my favourite shows.’

She continued: ‘I look forward to being on the iconic sofa. We’re going to have so much fun.’

According to reports, ITV bosses are hoping this will be the first step towards a new presenting career for Emily, so fans will be pleased to hear that we might be seeing a lot more of her on the channel.
