This year is already set to be a huge one for Downtown Abbey fans. Not only will we finally get the highly anticipated film, but it has now been announced that the hit period drama is hosting a concert.
That’s right, forget your festival plans because this summer, Music From Downton Abbey, is where you and your friends are going to want to be. The special event will be a celebration of the show – particularly the music used in the show, with the Chamber Orchestra of London playing hits such as ‘I’ll Count The Days’ and ‘If You Were The Only Girl In The World.’
What’s more? The Downton Abbey concert will be held at Highclere Castle, the 5,000 acre Hampshire estate where the award-winning TV show was filmed. So if you missed out on the festive tours and dinners event held at the castle over Christmas, this is yet another chance to visit the famous site.
Downton fans will also be very excited to hear that actor Jim Carter, who plays Carson the butler in the drama, will be hosting the concert in character. Carter will reflect back on his time in the estate, while clips and montages are shown to highlight and remind the audience of the most memorable moments from the show in-between songs throughout the concert.
Tickets for the Downton Abbey concert, which will take place on Saturday 22 June, are currently being sold on Live Nation, with prices starting from £67.40. But hurry, we have a feeling they won’t be there for long!
