People swear this 50p soap bar has transformed their skin

TikTok is the home of viral skincare trends, sleep tips, and even recipes. One such trend taking the social media platform by storm sees users incorporating a super affordable bar of soap into their skincare routine, and praising the positive effects it had on their complexions.

Dove’s Beauty Cream Bar costs just 50p and is kind and gentle on skin, formulated with one-quarter moisturising cream to give you soft, smooth, and healthy-looking skin.

A statement read: ‘Its mild cleansers help your skin to retain its natural moisture rather than stripping it away and helps to replenish nutrients that are lost during the cleansing process.’

Now, the hashtag #dovesoap has amassed over 30.3 million views on the platform, with countless users explaining how using the soap as a cleanser has cleared up their spots and blemishes.

‘Day 7 of using Dove on my face and I’m really starting to see a difference, my spots are really starting to clear up,’ says Beth Moreton in a TikTok video.

Beth explains that she wets the soap, rubs it between her hands and gently rubs it into her skin. She then uses her Face Halo pad to rinse the soap from her face before moisturising.

‘I bought it the other week and the difference is unbelievable!’ said one commenter, while another added: ‘I’ve seen so many good things about this, I must try.’

Another also praised the soap’s acne-fighting benefits: ‘I’ve been using it for a few weeks and my acne isn’t anywhere as bad.’

Another TikTok user @victrxia shows the incredible transformation of her skin over the course of 10 days, with the reduction in her acne clearly visible.

However, others have been quick to point out that bar soaps can be drying for the skin on our faces, potentially stripping the skin of moisture and essential oils. We recommend sticking to facial cleansers for blemish-prone skin to clear up spots, and using soap on the body instead.
