For thrifty shoppers, you can’t get much better than Depop. The online marketplace app has more than 30 million users in over 150 countries, all selling and buying clothes from big-name brands to high-street threads that need a new home. Now, Depop is hosting its first-ever charity sale on Sunday 20 June to raise money for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity in partnership with Father and Son Day.
Set up in 2014, Father and Son Day was founded by Daniel Marks and Jack Dyson who have both survived testicular cancer and whose fathers have also battled cancer.
Alongside raising funds to support a robotic surgery fellowship programme at The Royal Marsden, the campaign also aims to raise awareness of male cancer and open up a discussion around male health.
Now, in collaboration with Depop, the Father and Son day shop is launching a huge sale, hosted by Amy Bannerman, with some of the biggest names in fashion opening up their wardrobes so you can bag a bargain and donate to a good cause.
Items have been donated from the likes of Alexa Chung, Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz Beckham, Margherita Missoni, Jefferson Hack, David Gandy, Erin O’Connor, Ellie Bamber and Kate Moss.
You can expect to find labels such as Versace, Bottega Veneta, Emporio Armani, Gabriela Hearst and Dior and we’ve got a sneak peek of the pieces that will be on sale.
Straight from the arm of Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, this Bottega Veneta large The Shell tote bag is made from 100% leather with a fabric drawstring bag to keep your valuables safe. The curved structure adds a modern take to what could easily be your go-to bag for weekend plans.
Supermodel Kate Moss is a style icon, and you can have the chance to emulate her fashion with this dress from Coach that she generously donated. With black leather detailing around the collar, gold buttons, a tie waist, and a pleated skirt, it’s super flattering and perfect for autumn.
David Beckham’s oldest child is known for his colourful, printed shirts and this Gucci one makes a bold statement. Bright red adorned with pink and white flowers, it’ll ensure you step out in style this summer.
A cross-body bag will always be a useful wardrobe addition and if you want something eye-catching, this Emporio Armani is simply stunning. There’s a floral motif and chunky embellishments with a chain handle that will hold everything you need, from a face covering to your phone.
This showstopper sequin design was previously worn by singer-songwriter Celeste and is truly decadent thanks to the oversized collar bow, tassel tie waist and vibrant red colour. Perfect for hitting the dancefloor post-lockdown and cocktails on rooftops, we’re sure this one will prove popular on Depop.
Uruguayan women’s luxury ready-to-wear and accessories designer, Gabriela Hearst, has also kindly donated this grey, tailored blazer that’s perfect for smartening up any outfit or adding to your workwear wardrobe.
Known for her voice work in the Marvel series, this hot pink number is from Laura Bailey’s personal wardrobe and would be ideal for formal occasions, especially all the weddings we’ll be going to this year. Decorated with 3D organza flowers, it’s also got pockets (!) a stunning lace back and a relaxed, slip-on silhouette to keep you comfortable all day.
