You can get 23 per cent off The Ordinary products throughout November

Been wanting to try The Ordinary’s products for a while? Or already a fully paid-up member of the fan club, but need to stock up on your favourite formulas? Either way, you’ll be pleased to hear that you can get your hands on them for almost a quarter less than the usual price throughout the month.

Deciem, The Ordinary’s parent company, is offering a 23 per cent discount for almost all of November, with the exception of one crucial date: Black Friday, when not only will the offers pause, but the brand will close all activity on its website, as well as bricks and mortar stores in countries where lockdown restrictions aren’t preventing them from opening at present.

The promotion, dubbed Knowvember, is a successor to last year’s Blackout Friday, when Deciem followed the same discounting pattern. The brand explains its rejection of the annual online shopping frenzy, saying: ‘Last November, we asked you to shop slowly. We said that skincare purchases should be based on education over impulse, and highlighted the importance of conscious consumption.

‘For us, Black Friday no longer felt like a people or planet-friendly event, and so we closed our stores and website for a moment of nothingness. We did, however, still want to bring you a saving. And so we did something we had never done before by offering 23 per cent off every product for the entire month.’

deciem Black FridayFor 2020, that 23 per cent saving is back, but the time with a commitment to bring as much education content to the consumer as possible alongside their purchases. ‘By offering a month-long discount and daily education, we hope to empower people with the time and information required to buy less, but better.’

You can access the ‘Skintellectual Series’ educational content on Deciem’s website and its social media profiles, where the first lesson, on congestion and visible pores, is already live.

The decision has won Deciem major praise from customers on social media, with one exclaiming: ‘ Every time I use your products I love them, every post I read I feel your transparency and honesty and now reading this, am like, wow! How conscious, how committed, how humble and how amazing your brand is.’

‘Thank you for highlighting hyper-consumerism! There needs to be a shift in our consumption and purchasing behaviors,’ agreed another, while a third added: ‘Thank you for doing this and not being a typical company that just sees dollar signs.’

While The Ordinary is arguably the best known and loved names in the Deciem portfolio, and is certainly worth trying, you can also get a great deal on other skincare and haircare from lines like Hylamide, Hif and Niod.

With Deciem’s commitment to providing quality at a reasonable price, you’ll be able to afford a restock even when Knowvember has ended.
