Ever wondered what kind of foods celebrities eat? Do they eat pesto pasta and chip butties on their ‘too busy to think’ days, too? Thanks to an abundance of food-based podcasts like Jessie Ware’s Table Manners and Out To Lunch by Jay Rayner, we can now get a better insight into what the stars regularly tuck into.
The Beckhams are one of the most famous families on the planet, so we can’t help but be intrigued by their habits. Speaking on the River Cafe Table 4 podcast, David Beckham made a surprising revelation about his wife, Victoria, and her daily diet.
‘I get quite emotional about food and wine. When I’m eating something great I want everyone to try it,’ David started. ‘Unfortunately, I’m married to someone who has eaten the same thing for the last 25 years.’
Eating the same thing for lunch and dinner is a struggle for us, let alone every single day for years on end. But David continued to say: ‘Since I’ve met Victoria, she only eats grilled fish and steamed vegetables. She’ll very rarely deviate away from there.’
The former footballer then added there was one – yes, one – time that Victoria Beckham deviated from her usual diet. ‘The only time she’s shared something that’s been on my plate is when she was pregnant with Harper,’ David said, ‘and it was the most amazing thing. It was one of my favourite evenings. I can’t remember what it was, but I know she’s not eaten it since.’
Later in the podcast, the dad-of-four also revealed he had taken part in an Italian culinary course while he played for AC Milan in 2009. David aspired to make the ‘perfect’ ragu and risotto for his family, as his ‘kids’ favourite food is Italian’.
David isn’t the only food enthusiast in the family, either. The couple’s eldest son, Brooklyn, often showcases his love for cooking on social media with a ‘Cookin with Brooklyn’ series.
