With just five celebrity couples left and three weeks to go until the final, the competition is definitely heating up on this year’s Strictly Come Dancing.
And while that glitter ball trophy is still very much anyone’s at this point, judge Craig Revel Horwood has already cast his predictions for who will be in the final.
Speaking to Hello!, Craig revealed that he thinks it will be actress Rose Ayling-Ellis and her professional dance partner Giovanni Pernice, chef John Waite and his partner Johannes Radebe and TV presenter AJ Odudu and her partner Kai Widdrington who make it the final three.
He said: ‘If I was choosing, that’s who it would be.’
He continued: ‘The standard has been so high this year, though – we’ve never had dancing like it. And there’s been no joke act – no Anne Widdicombe, or John Sergeant – it’s been fair and square and tough competition.
‘And the closer they get to the end, the more competitive they’re all becoming because they can see themselves holding that Glitterball – and with that always comes offers for new shows. So there’s a lot at stake really and they’re all hungry for it.’
This follows Tilly Ramsay and dance partner Nikita Kuzmin’s exit on Sunday night’s episode, leaving Craig’s top three couples, plus Dan Walker and his professional dance partner Nadiya Bychkova and Rhys Stephenson and his partner Nancy Xu to fight it out for a place in the semi-final this weekend.
Craig recently had to miss a show due to testing positive for coronavirus and therefore having to self-isolate. He was replaced for the week by award-winning singer and actor Cynthia Erivo, but was back on the judging panel the following week.
We’re also looking forward to the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special, which has celebrities including Fred Sirieix, Mel Giedroyc and Adrian Chiles all confirmed to take part.
