Motsi Mabuse, Ruby Wax and Laura Whitmore to star in the Great Celebrity Bake Off 2022

The Great British Bake Off is such a hug of a TV show, don’t you think? Despite the tense baking disasters and rushing against the clock to complete tasty creations, there’s something so comforting about watching a bunch of people bake in a tent. The good news is, you don’t have to wait until September to watch it again.

The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer is back ‘this spring’ with a stellar line-up of stars. In case you’ve missed it in previous years, this version of Bake Off sees celebrities take to the tent to try their hand at baking challenges, all while raising money for the Stand Up To Cancer charity.

This year, 19 new stars will enter the tent, including some mega names like Strictly Come Dancing judge Motsi Mabuse, singer Ellie Goulding, comedian Ruby Wax, TV presenter Laura Whitmore and Olympian Sir Mo Farah.

Other comedians we can expect to see in the tent include creator of comedy show Taskmaster Alex Horne, Ed Gamble and Mawaan Rizwan – so at least there will be plenty of laughs!

DJs Annie Mac and Clara Amfo are also trying their hand at the challenge, as well as TV presenters Emma Willis and Sophie Morgan. Ben Miller, The Inbetweeners star Blake Harrison, Tracy-Ann Oberman and Coronation Street‘s Katherine Kelly are the famous actors hoping to impress the judges.

Also competing is singer-songwriter Example, choirmaster Gareth Malone and musician Yung Filly.

As per usual, each episode will see the celebrities take part in three rounds – the Signature, the Technical and the Showstopper challenge – in a bid to be crowned Star Baker.

The competition will be judged by Paul Hollywood and Dame Prue Leith like always, and presented by Noel Fielding and Matt Lucas. However, Matt will actually be switching roles to baker in one episode, as he has to fill in for someone.

Matt said: ‘I was forced to bake by my bosses at the last minute when one of the bakers became unavailable. I can’t tell you how happy I was that my humiliation was caught on camera.’

We can’t wait to watch!
