Most of you will agree when we say that Aldi is the reigning producer of good quality supermarket wine. In fact, the German retailer has won countless awards for their purse-friendly wine range and even been crowned the best on the market.
As well as its top notch value for money, one of the reasons of this is that Aldi never shy away from introducing quirky new ways to keep their stellar wine a talking point. Whether they’re launching new innovative takes, such as their famous chilled wine offering, or creating half-bottle wine for our convenience, there’s always something new and exciting.
The latest is the supermarket’s 1.5L wine pouch. That’s right, you can now purchase wine in a bag thanks to Aldi – just when we thought they’d spoiled us enough to last a lifetime!
The new offering comes right in time for the summer holidays and makes bring your own booze parties and BBQs a lot easier. The 1.5L Argentinian Malbec Wine Pouch is the equivalent of two bottles worth of wine and best of all? You can get your hands on it for just £10.
That is almost half the price of two bottles of wine despite both consisting of the same amount. Talk about a bargain!
This isn’t the first time Aldi has put on an offer we can’t refuse. Last year, the supermarket launched an enticing wine-flavoured gin. Sorgin – a gin made using Sauvignon Blanc grapes and juniper berries – was created by French winegrowers and vineyard owners Sabine Jaren and François Lurton. The spirit was the first of its kind to be launched by Aldi and as you can imagine, it became an instant hit among shoppers – us included.
At the time, the makers recommended it should be served neat, or with tonic, garnished with a twist of grapefruit or orange to compliment it best. Delicious, we know. That’s why we’ve got everything crossed they bring it back this year!
