Sales of this 90s-inspired beauty product have doubled at Boots since the Friends Reunion aired

It may well be 17 years since Friends called it wraps but Rachel Green is still inspiring current beauty trends with Boots reporting that there has been a surge in customers buying neutral and brown-hued beauty products such as eyeliner since the Friends Reunion episode aired last month.

Coming just two weeks after the retailer also reported an increase in sales of foundation with SPF in it since the start of ITV’s Love Island, it seems that the nation is still as susceptible to being influenced by what’s on TV as we were when Friends first aired and women everywhere flocked to have their hair cut like Rachel Green.

Speaking with Love Island‘s Laura Whitmore, Boots Trend Specialist Grace Vernon said: ’90’s beauty is back with a vengeance, and neutral, brown tones are the key – from dark nude lip liners to enhance the fullness of the lip, to smoky eyes with a smudged brown liner to finish the look. And with Google searches for brown lipstick up by 350 per cent in the last month, we expect to see even more people rocking 90’s-inspired beauty this summer.

‘Hot off the heels of the Friends Reunion, we’ve seen customers rushing to buy brown-hued beauty products to recreate the classic look seen on Rachel Green.’

In fact, searches for brown eyeliner on the Boots website have more than doubled since the  Friends Reunion aired and these are the two brown-hued Boots products trending right now…
