Rattan mirrors, rattan chairs, rattan magazine racks – the number of items on our current interiors wish list is high, but there’s clearly one thing they all have in common. And now the rattan sideboard of dreams has come along to trump the lot.
Sleek, simple and elegant, this rattan sideboard is a brilliantly versatile piece. It taps into the current interiors trend for cool Seventies design, combining vintage vibes with a stylish, modern feel.
Nicole Fuller of Nicole Fuller Interiors told Elle Decor that rattan homeware was one of the key interior trends for this year. ‘Rattan/wicker is having a resurgence,’ she said. ‘It warmly reminds me of my childhood and has evolved in fresh and exciting ways whether in chairs, tables, or lighting, it is the perfect layer to balance modern and traditional style.’
Made from MDF and real cane, with solid wood legs and rectangular handles, this sideboard is part of the furniture offering from bargain store B&M, but definitely has the looks to rival similar items from more expensive brands.
The best news is that B&M’s rattan sideboard is currently reduced from £120 to £100. That makes it half the price of a similar version from Made.com, which is great to know if you’re trying to decorate your home on a budget.
B&M’s sideboard is available in either natural or black, both of which would look fabulous anywhere from the bedroom to the living room. You can check online if it’s available in your nearest store – when we looked there were plenty still selling them, although many are displaying ‘Limited stock’ signs.
We do still have a soft spot for the Made.com’s oak effect version (above), which is currently on sale for £199. Perhaps we need one for each room?
