Black Friday, the annual retail sale event that originated in the US, is now just as big a deal over here in the UK, too. Taking place just after the American holiday of Thanksgiving (which occurs on the fourth Thursday of November every year), what started as one day of sales has turned into a weekend-long (or even week or fortnight in some cases) retail event, with Cyber Monday following with even more slashed prices.

I text David to tell him I’m so nervous about moving and marrying him that I wake at 4am every day, stomach churning. Even the dogs are still snoring.
