We’re forever obsessed with how the Queen and the rest of the royal family celebrates Christmas. From what they eat on Christmas Day to what happens at the pre-Christmas lunch with extended family members (which has been cancelled this year due to Covid), it’s fascinating to learn how the royal’s spend the big day. We even know what the Queen’s favourite film to watch at Christmas is.
Of course, we’re equally invested in what the royal family wears, and Christmas Day provides the perfect glimpse into their wardrobes.
As is tradition, the whole family, including the Queen, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren (plus spouses), head to Her Majesty’s Sandringham estate in Norfolk. On Christmas Day morning, tradition dictates that they all attend the Christmas Day morning service at the local St Mary Magdalene Church, which is where we get to spy all the royal’s Christmas Day outfits (well, their first ones anyway – it’s often said that there are multiple outfit changes for the royal family on Christmas Day).
Due to Covid, the Queen has cancelled the family trip to Sandringham this year and they will instead celebrate Christmas and New Year at Windsor Castle.
