Planning a trip to Scotland anytime soon? We’ve got just the place for you to stay – especially if you love indulging in luxury. Old Course Hotel, Golf Resort and Spa has been named Scotland’s Hotel of the Year at the annual AA Hospitality Awards and by the looks of things, it’s well worthy of the title.
Located right by the stunning Scottish coastline, the resort isn’t short of views. In fact, it is situated in the middle of a number of famous golf courses, not to mention the renowned 17th Road Hole. And that’s before you even stepped inside.
Once you do, a huge highlight is the hotel’s interior. Put together by French interior designer Jacques Garcia, the hotel’s decor features his signature red striped wallpaper, dark wood furniture and deep red accents.
‘The whole team at the Old Course Hotel is extremely honoured and truly delighted to win the 2018/19 AA Hotel of the Year for Scotland,’ said Old Course Hotel general manager Helen McBride. ‘We are continually investing in the hotel and in staff training to ensure that our guests always enjoy a truly memorable stay at the resort.’
Old Course Hotel is also home to an acclaimed luxury spa – Kohler Waters Spa and Leisure Centre. Here, guests can not only enjoy various treatments but a rooftop garden with a hot tub – we told you it was lavish.
As well as this, the hotel has six diverse restaurants and bars for you to choose from. Though some may be easier to pick than others as they boast a view of the picturesque West Sands which is where Hugh Hudson’s Chariots of Fire (2012) was filmed.
The hotel isn’t far from the Scottish town of St Andrew’s (home to the university where Prince William met Kate, don’t you know…) so whether you’re a keen golfer, a spa indulging treatment lover or neither, there’ll be plenty of other things to explore.
