It’s no secret that the ‘Meghan effect’ is real. The Duchess of Sussex steps out in an ensemble and if it’s high street, it will fly off the shelves – and if it’s high end, every high street shop will copy it in some way.
It’s just a fact: what she’s wearing, people want.
It’s little surprise then, that ASOS has seen a huge 129% rise in sales of suits after the duchess has been spotted out in the look on a number of occasions.
Now, of course, we can’t be certain the link is definite but we reckon the nation’s newfound love of tailoring surely has something to do with the duchess. After all, she wears it so incredibly well.
Take earlier this month for example, when she stepped out for the WellChild Awards in London in an incredible flare-legged black suit that she paired with a satin cami-top (see below). Or that time she wore that show-stopping tuxedo to see Hamilton alongside the Duke.
Cottoning on to the trend are a few other big names too. This week, Holly Willoughby wore an incredible Claudie Pierlot checked pink suit to the TV Choice Awards, and the Zara tuxedo Claudia Winkleman chose for the Strictly Come Dancing launch last month was one of our absolute favourites.
The good news is, it’s super easy to channel the look should you want to. Here, we’ve rounded up our favourite high street suits to run out and snap up ASAP. When it comes to purchasing, just make sure you always try them on first – because this is one item of clothing that has to be exact when it comes to fit…
