Now that the world as we (used to) know it is opening up again, the opportunities to get dressed up have increased ten-fold. From catching up on missed birthday celebrations to actual weddings, our social calendars are looking in a much healthier state of play than they did a few months ago.
But, of course, this means we now need the wardrobe to match. Especially with the weather heating up again, we’ve been thinking a lot about sandals lately, and there’s one style that’s always a winner. Espadrille wedges are a failsafe summer shoe – not only are they versatile enough to go with dresses, skirts and jeans, but they also bring an immediate summery vibe to any dressy outfit as well as elevate a casual weekend look.
Kate Middleton is a fan of wedge espadrilles, having been spotted in a pair of Castañers signature Carina wedges a couple of years ago, and sister-in-law Meghan has also been seen in the brand before.
More recently, JLo paired a pair of hot pink espadrilles with a bikini, naturally, to confirm her romance with Ben Affleck and Klarna just revealed that sales of espadrille wedges in the days after spiked by a whopping 53 per cent. Wow!
If they’re good enough for Kate, Meghan and J.Lo…
