Ah, Zara: land of trend-led designs, gorgeous fabrics and prints, constantly updated displays, and best of all, impressively low prices. In recent years, the Spanish brand has gone from strength to strength on the UK high street, and even faces as famous as the Duchesses of Cambridge and Sussex can’t resist its wares.
However, because their stores are often a) enormous and b) incredibly busy, shopping at Zara can sometimes be overwhelming, not to mention frustrating when your size isn’t on the shelf. But thanks to a hot tip from a former staff member, you can get your hands on the best new looks at the quietest time.
Speaking to Who What Wear, the insider revealed that all Zaras get new stock twice a week – and shopping on these particular days can totally transform your experience.
‘Depending where you’re from, it’s usually Mondays and Thursdays,’ they wrote. ‘Staff are there at 7am/8am opening boxes so new stuff will be hitting the shop floor by 9.30am, so Monday and Thursday mornings are the best time to get your hands on sizes and Saturday naturally the worst!’
Once you’ve found the item you’re after, they also recommend you snap it up pronto, because once it’s gone, it’s often gone for good.
‘Customers will always ask: will you be getting more stuff like this? Honestly the staff will have no idea what the rest of the season will look like,’ they explained. ‘Yes, there are key trends, but since Zara design, create and produce items and have them distributed within just a few weeks, there is no way you can predict what’s coming in.’
‘Managers will only know what’s coming in when they do the order for next week’s stock. So if you like it, buy it. Items have a short life span in Zara and if you miss out on it, you won’t likely see it again.’
So, if you’re planning on stocking up on some winter basics, we’d suggest doing it sooner rather than later – and preferably, earlier in the week!
