It’s officially September and with the AW collections hitting our favourite stores – we’ve already rounded up the best autumnal pieces available at John Lewis – this is the perfect time to refresh your wardrobe. One of the easiest ways to transition from summer to autumn is with an arsenal of great co-ords – with matching tops and bottoms, this wardrobe staple is surprisingly easy to style.
For those who want to keep things simple, a wool blend suit in neutral tones – think cream, camel, navy or black – is a must. If you are looking for that pop of colour, then & Other Stories and Uterqüe – Zara’s upscale sister brand – have two-pieces in vibrant shades such as moss green and baby blue. Just pair the suit with a white or black polo neck, or a shirt for a more office-friendly outfit.
H&M just dropped a collaboration with Italian brand Giuliva Heritage that includes twill tailored trousers and a matching utility jacket – easy to pair with trainers for a more casual look. Alternatively, the wide-leg leather co-ord by Selected Femme, as well as the check print trousers and shirt by Object – both available on ASOS – are good options if you are looking to give your two-piece game an edge.
Skirt-wise, the ribbed two-piece by Reformation is one of our favourites because it’s stylish and comfortable. Available in four colours, it comes as a set and includes a cropped top and flattering midi length skirt. Ganni’s pre-fall collection also includes a coordinating floral mini skirt and blouse that are perfect for everyday wear.
Have a browse at Topshop – their check mini skirt and blazer combo is a guaranteed sell-out – or Mango – who doesn’t love a double-breasted blazer and wrapped skort? – for more fitted co-ords. You can wear them bare-legged with leather knee boots for the time being, and once the temperatures start dropping, simply add some tights.
