The best breathable face masks if you’re not quite ready to ditch them on 19 July

It’s been compulsory to wear a face mask on public transport since 15 June 2020 and mandatory to wear them in all shops across England from 24 July 2020 but now, times are changing as lockdown restrictions ease.

As of 19 July, it will no longer be a legal requirement to wear a face mask in England no longer be a legal requirement to wear a face mask in England, although the government is continuing to advise that you wear one in crowded spaces. Businesses also have the power to enforce their own health and safety rules, which can include asking staff and customers to wear a face mask.

With stores such as Waitrose and Sainsbury’s doing exactly that and Sadiq Khan confirming that wearing a mask will remain compulsory on TFL, we’d suggest that rather than throwing away your trusty face mask come 19 July, you still pocket it when leaving the house just in case.

With that in mind and temperatures heating up, we thought we’d share some of our favourite and best breathable face masks that are perfect for summer if you’re not quite ready to stop wearing one just yet.
