The humble brags of the British vegetable patch are suddenly all the rage as the latest beauty ingredients. Meet the new mint and rhubarb must-haves.

 1 Floral Street Electric Rhubarb eau de parfum (£58, Made in collaboration with the Royal Horticultural Society, the summery bottle contains a mouthwatering blend of rhubarb, frangipani and island gardenia that is bright and fruity without being too saccharine. 

2 Summerdown Mint Awakening Mint & Lemongrass Shower Gel (£15, contains Black Mitcham peppermint oil and aromatic lemongrass to pack an uplifting punch – with added borage seed oil and aloe vera gel for a lovely rich lather.

6 Diptyque Eau de Minthé eau de parfum (£120, Mint gets surprisingly sexy in this scent – with a blend of patchouli and geranium for added sophistication.

7 Exposure to pollution can leave scalps clogged up and hair dull. Klorane Anti-Pollution Detox Shampoo (£8,, with aquatic mint, purifies hair without stripping it – plus there are extra green points for its 95 per cent biodegradable formula and 50 per cent recycled plastic bottle.

8 Miller Harris Lost In The City eau de parfum (£95, is inspired by the nature found on an urban wander. Angelica seed, blackcurrant and geranium are blended with rhubarb for a green and incredibly chic scent.
