March forward, with the Best of British behind you…
Following another spectacular London Fashion Week and with the first hopeful signs of spring emerging all around, the theme for this month’s YOU Beauty shortlist simply had to be Best of British.
The British Beauty industry continues to go from strength to strength – the timing of this gorgeous bevy of homegrown beauty products is most apt, as we close the door on winter and take our first few steps into spring…
Here are the products that made the cut, and why:
Bagsy Wow Lips Full Colour Chubby Stick in 03 Ready to Wear is an easy to apply pencil lip colour with high impact colour and super moisturising properties. We’re a little bit in love with the Bagsy brand (see Spotlight on Bagsy HERE) and this is one of several Bagsy Beauty products that first attracted us.
Next up is Eyeko’s Skinny Liquid Eyeliner – a favourite of Alexa Chung, otherwise known as the master of textbook eyeliner application. This liquid eyeliner pen glides on without dragging and creates just the perfect feline flicks!
LOLA Make-Up by PERSE makes two appearances this March. First up is super summery LOLA Lip Gloss 005, a sweet but sophisticated shade of long-lasting water-shine lip gloss that delivers a comfortable and non-sticky feel.
Secondly, LOLA Nail Polish in 013 Stone Blue gives intense coverage, is easy to apply with minimal mess and boasts a quick-drying time – two high performance and durable make-up products, from a brand to watch.
Something to effectively remove all the loveliness above at the end of the day, is Katherine Daniels Essential Micellar Face & Eye Make-up Remover. This was the winner of best eye make-up remover at the Beauty Shortlist Awards 2016 and dissolves make-up on contact.
The Hero Project ® Vit C-30™ Ultra Brightening Serum is a powerful vitamin C facial serum, containing 30% ethylated L-Ascorbic Acid – one of the most potent serums of its kind. This premium skincare product is designed to help improve the appearance of existing fine lines and protect from further damage.
MONU SKIN is another brand to feature twice in the March shortlist, with their RENUSKIN Advanced Anti-Ageing Lip & Eye Active Lift – a refreshing serum that has been carefully formulated to energise the sensitive skin around the eyes and lips, and MONU Line Smoothing Eye Cool Gel – designed to instantly restore hydration, reduce puffiness and dark circles and correct skin tone. Try popping the cooling gel in the fridge for twice the impact and a spa-like treatment.
Maddi Alexander Serene Body Wash is a seriously indulgent body wash, ideal for pampering night’s in. The scent is feminine and relaxing and will ease you into a peaceful slumber – a gem of a product from a brand that focuses on the highest quality ethically sourced ingredients.
Awake Organics Apothecary Aura Clean Deodorant has been the biggest surprise of the month for us. This is part of a wide range of impressive natural skincare products – all produced with the goal of being simple, organic and mood-boosting – whilst delivering impressive results. Aura Clean Deodorant is a 100% non-toxic, aluminium-free, organic cream deodorant and it allows the body to detox like it’s supposed to, whilst keeping you dry and comfortable.
Button & Wilde Wild Citrus Rose Body Lotion comes from a brand new and exciting luxury bath and body care brand. This smells divine and we challenge you not to slather yourself top-to-toe in this indulgent and nourishing moisturiser!
The White Company are never off the radar and Seychelles Hand & Nail Cream is a burst of essential hydration, just when we needed it the most. It’s super rich and softly scented – the perfect cocktail for weary post-winter skin.
Admittedly it’s one of life’s most fickle quests but still one that so many of us seek – good hair. The March BOB shortlist includes one product that will help set you on the path to achieving those hotly sought tresses (as well as a clear conscience) – Natural World’s Chia Seed Hair Oil is part of a volume and shine boosting range, infused with certified organic chia seed oil. The shortlisted oil is best for fine hair as the product itself is ultra-fine and will be absorbed instantly.
