YOU Beauty Box: August’s Beauty Solutions Edit review

For August, our beauty mavens unveil their top picks from this month’s incredible YOU Beauty Box edit…

YOU Beauty Box: The Beauty Solutions Edit for August

Bloom and Blossom – Revitalising Leg & Foot Spray

This is the perfect product to refresh you on those hot sticky summer days.  After tube journeys or walks to work, it instantly cools you down and feels as though it’s reducing any swelling, with Aloe Vera being a key ingredient. This quick fix spray would be brilliant for holidays and it smells amazing too! Dru Ryder

Paul Mitchell® – Forever Blonde Dramatic Repair

As I get my highlights done once every 6 weeks the bleach can slowly damage my hair until I have to keep going shorter and shorter to get rid of dry ends. I’m constantly looking for the next hair saviour; not just for dry hair but also to resurge my blonde colour – and it seems like I’ve found the perfect product. The best thing is it’s so easy to use – just spray on after you’ve washed your hair, brush through and leave to dry.  Another bonus is, it doesn’t make your hair go greasy or look wet like so many other big hair masks, oils or sprays.  I will definitely be keeping this as a must have for my hair care regime. 111 SKIN – Bio Cellulose Facial Treatment Mask

I really appreciate the transformative effects of a good face mask and this brand, although new to me, has really impressed. The mask is packed with a cocktail of powerful ingredients to totally overhaul the complexion by brightening, nourishing and even stimulating collagen production. I love how easy this mask is to use – it’s one of the new sheet mask designs, which looks a bit odd, but is far less messy than masks of old. After just 20 minutes my skin looked completely refreshed and felt fantastic. Juliana Kluts

NIP+FAB – Glycolic Fix Daily Cleansing Pads

What an innovative new way to cleanse your skin! Even better is the fact that these cleansing pads have a gentle exfoliating power to them. A whole host of radiance-boosting qualities are contained – including blue daisy which brightens the skin. I would say these are perfect for when skin needs a deeper clean. Plus its ideal post-festivals or holidays where you’ve been lathering your face all day with sunscreen. Juliana Kluts

Bloom and Blossom – Rejuvenating Facial Spritz

In the midst of our English ‘summer’ there are times when I feel really hot and bothered, especially after the dreaded commute. This is where being introduced to this lovely product has been a saving grace for a sometimes much needed refreshing wake up call. It contains ingredients like Aloe Vera and lime oil which helps to improve skin tone, reduce wrinkles and dark shadows (great to hide the late nights!). It’s also very soothing and cooling – actually all the ingredients are collagen boosting ingredients, so make sure you pop this in your handbag for a little pick-me-up when you’re on the go. nügg – Revitalizing Face Mask

I hadn’t heard of this brand before but now that I have, and I’ve tried it, I can confidently say that this is a really lovely, light, refreshing face mask which contains peppermint and menthol with are very good ingredients for boosting blood flow to leave a healthy, dewy glow. With the Flaxseed oil to plump the skin and some other delicious smelling ingredients, it’s the perfect recipe for a gorgeous pot of affordable, effective magic. I leave it on for about 7 minutes before washing off with a warm flannel: FYI, be prepared to be amazed! Charlotte Ashton

Sönd – Revitalising Face Serum

My skin can be easily irritated, specifically congested and prone to shine, if I use anything too unnatural or harshly fragranced. This hydrating serum has been a bit of a revelation to me and quickly replaced my previous serum for everyday use. I’ve been applying it about 10 minutes before my moisturiser every morning for 10 days now and my skin definitely looks smoother and less stressed! The calming but revitalising ingredients are working for me already and I’ve had several compliments on how clear my skin looks. Holly Wadsworth – Hill

The Body Shop – Oils of Life Intensely Revitalising Facial Oil

The Body Shop is one of my favourite natural beauty brands and I am no stranger to their body butters, bronzers and amazing new contour lightening and darkening drops (I highly recommend you give them a try too if you haven’t already!). I have actually been using the Revitalising Facial Oil as a night oil for a while now but I love it so much that I will take any excuse to champion it! This is a really intense oil that delivers a powerful quenching effect to the skin and leaves it looking revitalised, rested and healthy but, most importantly for me, it will not leave your skin sticky or over-greasy as the super lightweight texture is absorbed instantly. Beverley Hills – Formula Perfect White Black Toothpaste

I had my teeth professionally (and expensively) whitened before I got married eight years ago and, over the past year or so, I have noticed they are starting to stain again. Unfortunately, I also have generally rubbish teeth and am prone to sore gums so I really don’t want to start the bleaching again. This toothpaste has proved the ideal compromise for me and really brightened my smile up in the last fortnight. It removes stains but has a low abrasion formula so doesn’t feel too harsh. It left my mouth feeling extra fresh as well and the activated charcoal is also proven to help tackle bad breath. Holly Wadsworth – Hill

The Body Shop – British Rose Instant Glow Body Butter

I’m a huge fan of most Body Shop products, and this one certainly doesn’t disappoint! Like most body butters this one left my skin feeling thoroughly nourished, without feeling sticky and it dried quickly. The product is slightly pearlescent so instantly leaves skin looking healthy and glowing. As my skin is quite dry and sometimes a little sensitive, I was wary of using a scented moisturiser as they can often irritate my skin, however I was pleasantly surprised to find that my skin had no reaction to the cream and left it feeling smooth and soft. The scent was also lovely without being overbearing. Brogan Wright

This Works – In Transit Camera Close Up

An all in one mask, moisturiser and primer – This Works’ In Transit Camera Close Up really does work! After just a couple of uses I realised that this product would rapidly become one of my skincare essentials. I suffer from oily skin so a good primer is key to my skincare regime, and I found that this product kept my make up in place all day without creating any shine on my T-zone. It left my skin looking smooth and dewy and gave me the effect of a really kind filter! I love it. Brogan Wright
