What’s better than a perfect summer shoe that comes in a range of colours and is comfy enough to wear for all occasions? A perfect summer shoe that hits those must-haves and costs just £18, that’s what.
Brought to our attention by Erica Davies, one of our favourite style inspirations on the ‘gram, ASOS’ new drop of Mary Jane ballet flats are just what your wardrobe needs; ideal for teaming with everything from floaty summer dresses to casual jeans and tees.

Remember that scene in Sex & The City, where Carrie shrieks over the ‘urban shoe myth’ Manolo Blahnik Mary-Janes, in the Vogue magazine shoe cupboard, with the inappropriate editor who takes his trousers off?! (I just remembered all that detail without the need for Google. All praise my long-term memory, because lord knows the short-term one doesn’t remember what I walked into a room for). Anyway! These are not Manolo Blahnik, nor do they have heels, but they are the cutest Mary-Janes and I sure do love an M-J and a Carrie Bradshaw shoe quote. I’m trying the velvet leopard and the *coughs* Chanel-inspired tweed and they’re from ASOS. They also come in plain black or blush pink velvet – and they’re sold in matching pairs, by the way, I was just trying ‘em on. Buy one size up! #Icouldnthelpbutwonder #chanello #cutethingsifound (I’ll add link to Stories)🌿
Erica, an ex-fashion editor turned founder of lifestyle blog The Edited and a woman of exceptionally good taste, was particularly enamoured with the leopard and tweet print pairs, but they do come in a selection of five different shades including a classic black, blush pink and rich rust.
And her 136k followers fell in love just as quickly as she did, with one commenting: ‘They are mighty fine! Nice shape. I love the sound of the pink versions; they’d channel my inner ballerina.’
‘Purchased the tweed… should be getting ready for work 😩😩,’ another admitted, while a third wrote: ‘Omg I have shoe envy right now. I feel a shopping spree coming on.’
If you want to beat the rest of Instagram to the shoes – which also have a generous size range of 2-10 – we’d highly suggest investing in your chosen set now. Although with a price tag that gives change from a £20 note, personally we might be tempted to add more than one to our online shopping baskets…
